Topical Immunomodulators

Topical immunomodulators work by directly suppressing the immune system. Because they are powerful agents and can have serious side effects, they are only used if other treatments fail, and even then, only for short periods of time.1

It should be noted that several Immune Modulators have also been issued "Black Box" Warnings from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) - due to the lack of Long-term safety data. Health Canada has also issued similar labelling warnings for this class of products.
